KAYU MANIS – Indonesian for "Cinnamon" also means "Sweet Wood". She is named such because the hull is built entirely of solid ironwood using only wooden nails and only solid teak wood is used for both the interior and the exterior. She is of the type of a traditional Bugis Schooner, also known as "Phinisi",and was built in this traditional manner in Sulawesi, Indonesia, only in 2007. Her masts reach over 15 meters above the 24 meters long, spacious deck. On a high wind day, it is not uncommon for her to reach 10 knots under sail. She is certainly a very unique and romantic ship. Her crew feels that she is an absolute dream to operate, not to mention the proud French owner, who is in the wood and furniture business both in Europe and Asia since many years, the boat reflecting this background.
An extraordinary vessel with great charm, Kayu Manis is a perfect choice for intimate or group cruise.
