"ALERT BAY" was remanufactured by the Shipyard in 1977 as a "Europa"-Style Trawler and is a great Cruising Trawler Yacht. If you're in the market for a large trawler, you owe it to yourself to see her. She's just arrived in San Francisco Bay from the Puget Sound. SHE MUST BE SEEN! She's got great equipment, only 2300hrs on the rebuild of her 625HP V12 CUMMINS Diesel, two identical 12kw Diesel gensets (one dry stacked & one wet) and inverter, 12VDC/32VDC/110VAC/220VAC systems/ Whaler-type dingy w/20hp outboard, FLYBRIDGE and Pilothouse (both w/ hydraulic steering), hydraulic windlass, 1100 imperial gallon fuel capacity in two tanks, 500 imperial gallon water capacity in two tanks, full top-quality holding tank system, spare gear lube & engine oil tanks, VHF, Radar, Loran, Depth, auto pilot, 8-person canister-type life raft, pressure hot & cold water, WASHER/DRYER and a lot more. She's much more a small ship than a large boat and was built strongly by McKay & McCormick Shipyard in Vancouver, B.C. for North Coast and Inside Passage work as the Canadian Royal Mounted Police Patrol Vessel. She was remanufactured as a yacht by the Shipyard in 1977 and has had 2300 operating hours use since that time. Hull is Choice Fir 1 5/8th inches thick on White Oak frames, Bronze fastened. Foredeck is varnished teak. She's reported to make better than 12knts and at 8 = knts (1200 RPM) she burns a very economical 3 = Gallons per hour. GALLEY is up and all electric w/2 ovens, microwave oven, 4 burners, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and double s/s sinks. Large salon up w/seating, ship's dining settee/table and great visibility. Aft lower Double bed stateroom w/head & shower and two four-bunk staterooms and head & shower forward. "ALERT BAY " has a very clean and large stand-up and uncluttered SHIP'S TYPE ENGINE ROOM and is a well-kept vessel in excellent condition ready to go to sea and adventuring.
